What is Fifteen Minute City?

As the expo draws to a close, everyone is wondering what the metropolis will become. Officials had earlier said that the city would be built under the name District 2020 and would provide startups and accommodation here.

However, the authorities have announced that the expo will be changed as the first 15 minutes city in the UAE. That is, the expo will become a city with any amenities within 15 minutes. 

The idea is to make the city accessible within 15 minutes of walking or cycling without a car. 

The authorities have released the outlines and plans of this. Ten km of special cycle tracks are being constructed here. There will be a five kilometer jogging track. 

Most of the pavilions will be converted into living quarters or offices. The pavilions are constructed in such a way that they can be changed. Officials said 80 per cent of the structures at the expo would not have to be demolished.

There is also the big project, which connects Expo and Dubai Silicon Oasis. These projects will be implemented shortly after the expo. The UK has already announced the opening of a Hydrogen Innovation Center here.
