Abu Dhabi: All students in the Emirate has started coming back to schools. Private Schools are open for students from Sixth to ninth grade classes while government schools is open to all children in grades 6 through 11 in the second phase, the offline education started from Monday. 

In the private sector, Kindergarten to 5th grade and 10,11,12 grades has also began offering offline education from January 24th onwards. At the same time, various schools reported that in order to take precautionary measures they are planning to allow days off or weeks off for students to be educated in separate batches.

Neeraj Bhargava, who is the Principal of Abu Dhabi Indian School says that this method will be followed in their school as well. This is for ensuring the safety of students and staff. 

Plan by the Ministry of Education for concessions in covid regulation named The 'Blue Schools' initiative conducted was a huge success since it has increased the average vaccination rate among the students. Vaccination is now 100% complete in most of the schools. In these academic centers, social distancing, number of students on buses, and restrictions on sports activities are withdrawn.

In November 2021, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has celebrated the first school to reach the Blue Schools Initiative top Blue tier for achieving a vaccination rate of 85%+ among its students physically attending school. Grace Valley Indian School was the first school to achieve this and were able to enjoy relaxation on some of the COVID-19 precautionary measures.

Al Dhaher School, New Indian Model School, The Philippine School, Our Own English High School, The Model Private School and AlSaad Indian School has reached Blue tier status. Over 85% of the students of these centres physically attending school are vaccinated.
