Sharjah International Airport launches 'smart information desk'

Launched as part of the 'UAE Innovates 2022' program, new “Smart Information Desk” will help travelers access airport services. This allows passengers and customers to communicate with the customer service staff at the airport.

In conjunction with the UAE #Innovation Month, #SharjahAirport launches the new smart information desk, through which you can access a list of services and facilities in the easiest way possible.

In addition to enabling remote communication with customer service staff, the Smart Information Desk will also show you the ways inside the new terminal.

The boarding pass scan provides the fastest route to the relevant gate and related information. In addition, the smart information desk is designed to be accessible to passengers with limited mobility. The smart information desk includes sign language features and a flexible screen for wheelchair users.

For the second year in a row, Sharjah Airport has been awarded the Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) AHA Certificate AHA by the Airport Council International (ACI) ACI in recognition of its efforts to provide a safer experience for passengers purchasing goods. It is the first airport in the UAE to achieve this feat and the seventh airport in the Middle East.

In addition to enabling remote communication with customer service staff, the new Smart Information Desk will smooth passengers’ journey inside the terminal by providing access to an interactive airport map and associated features, such as the fastest route to the relevant gate, by simply scanning a boarding pass.

Furthermore, the Smart Information Desk is designed to be accessible for passengers with limited mobility, which includes sign language features and a flexible screen to accommodate wheelchair users. Users may also select to send an ‘electronic souvenir’ – a keepsake card of their travels through Sharjah Airport – via email from the Desk.

The launch of the Smart Information Desk is in line with Sharjah Airport Authority’s continued efforts to implement the latest technologies and solutions in the airport and travel services sector with the aim of ensuring the highest quality experiences for its customers and passengers.
