Etihad Passenger is the dream project of the UAE with state-of-the-art equipment. Pictures revealing the new look and feel of the Etihad Passenger Train are out. Pictures and videos of the train with the red Etihad Rail logo in silver and gray were released to the media.
The interior of the train is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technology similar to aircraft. It also offers a variety of smart services such as Wi-Fi, entertainment systems, charging points and restaurants. Authorities revealed months ago that passenger trains were running. Earlier it was revealed that it will be used only for freight.
The inspection of the train and track is currently in progress. Officials said there would be stations in the cities but details have not been released. No start date has been announced for the train service. With the completion of the Dh50 billion project, it will be 50 minutes from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and 100 minutes from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah.
The 1,200-kilometer rail project will connect 11 major cities in the seven emirates. The train travels at a speed of 200 km per hour. The train runs from Sila on the Saudi border to Fujairah on the east coast of the country. It has also announced that it will develop smart apps for booking trips and other services. The project is expected to contribute Dh200 billion to the UAE economy.
It is estimated that by 2030, 3.65 crore passengers will travel by Etihad Rail every year. The first phase of the rail was completed in 2016. It is mainly used for transporting industrial products to ports. Authorities also revealed that nine seven-kilometer-long tunnels running through the Hajar Mountains were completed by the end of last year. Etihad Passenger Train is the UAE's dream project to connect all the emirates of the country.
