Parking in Sharjah will be free on Fridays in all zones, except for the places that have blue information signs.
Since Sharjah is adopting the three day weekend, the paid parking timings has been announced by the Emirate's municipality officials.
Starting with the new year, Sharjah will move into the four-day work-week, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday will become the new weekend.
As per the Sharjah Municipality, public parking will be a paid service from Saturday's to Thursday's and will be free on Fridays in all zones, except for those areas that have blue information signs. In the blue marked areas, parking is a paid service on all days of the week.
Sharjah adopts the four-day workweek, while the rest of the Emirates in UAE will have a 4.5 work day schedule with Friday half-day, Saturday and Sunday become the new weekend.
Roads & Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) had earlier made the announcement that parking would be a paid service on all days, except Fridays.
