In line with Abu Dhabi Government strategies to drive transport electrification and achieve climate ambitions, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) announced a new governance framework, for charging electric vehicles (EVs) in the emirate, in collaboration with key stakeholders. The aim is to enhance vehicle-grid integration and encourage the private sector and consumer participation to scale up EV use in Abu Dhabi.
The tariff will be implemented by Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) and Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) and takes effect August 26, 2021.Following registration, a flat monthly fee of AED 92 will be applied to all EV charger owners until a meter is installed. After the installation of the meter, billing will be based on actual consumption.
If you live in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi or run a business here and charge electric vehicles at your property, you need to register your electric vehicle charger so that ADDC or AADC can install a meter specifically for your charger.

Please complete the registration of your EV Supply Equipment (charger) on ADDC/AADC website and the Contact Center will call you to schedule a site survey for meter installation.
Can I install 2 meters in 2 premises for the same car and same charger?
The same car can be charged in 2 premises. However, the charger in each premise must be registered so that a meter can be installed.
All EV charger owners must register their chargers to avoid non-compliance and to take advantage of the EV meter incentive (free EV meter until the end of 2021).
