The airline expects 1.1 million passengers to pass through Terminal 3 over the Christmas period.
In anticipation of another busy travel period around Christmas and New Years, Emirates has issued a warning to passengers transiting through Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB) in the coming weeks.
Passengers were asked to allow extra time for their trip, to arrive at least three hours before departure and to leave early to account for traffic delays. Customers arriving less than 60 minutes before the flight's scheduled departure will not be accepted for travel.
The airline expects a peak of around 250,000 travelers this weekend, but the busy period will continue until December 21. School holidays begin on December 12, hence the period of heavy traffic for more and more travelers returning home at Christmas.
Guests are welcome to use the automatic check-in kiosks and luggage storage for a contactless airport experience. There are 32 new self-service baggage machines and 16 self-service kiosks, operated by Emirates staff to assist passengers.
To speed things up, it's always best to check-in online, which you can do 48 hours before your flight. You can check-in physically at the airport 24 hours before your flight.
Passengers are advised to arrive at the boarding gate on time after check-in. Doors open 90 minutes before departure, boarding begins 45 minutes before flight and doors close 20 minutes before departure.
