People must always keep a social distance of 2 metres.

The officials in the UAE have removed the mandatory requirement of wearing face masks while they are at some public places. The people must be maintaining a social distance of two meters between each other, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced on Wednesday, September 22.

The residents are not needed to wear masks at the time of exercising in public places. Face Masks are also not mandatory if the members of the same house are travelling in their private cars. Beach-goers and users of public swimming pools are also not required to wear it.

The above mask rule is also active for other places like closed places when individuals are alone; salons and beauty centres and medical centres.

Jn the coming days poster sign boards will be displayed at places where masks are not required.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention highlighted that masks remain mandatory in all other public places. "Masks remain one of the most effective tools in fighting the virus," the NCEMA said.

The decision was taken after the number of daily Covid-19 cases in UAE decreased by 60 per cent in August 2021 as compared to the same period last year. On Tuesday, the country has recorded only 322 new cases.

The UAE is also among the most vaccinated people living country in the world, with over 92 percentage of residents has received at least one dose, and over 81 percentage fully vaccinated.
