A fine of 3,000 dirhams will be applied for violating the rule on maximum capacity in a vehicle.

The officials in the United Arab Emirates have announced the updated list of fines for violating Covid safety guidelines and rules. The penalties includes a wide range of measures, including the maximum number of people allowed in vehicles.

The UAE Attorney-General has given the maximum number of people allowed in cars, pick-up trucks, bikes and other vehicles. The Motorists will be finedwith Aed 3,000 for violating this limit.

If you want travelling on a bike, then only the driver is allowed to be on a bike and riding on backside along with driver will attract fines; while pick-up trucks can have a driver and a passenger.

Other vehicles can have a driver and two passengers.

Family members and their domestic help; and second-degree relatives are exempted from the above rule of 3 passengers in a car.

If there is just the driver in a vehicle, he or she  doesn’t need to wear a mask. Family members, domestic help and second-degree relatives are also exempted from the mask rule while inside the vehicle.
