Abu Dhabi transport authorities announced that the Residents of Abu Dhabi emirate can enjoy the free parking during the Eid Al Fitr holidays.
The vehicle owners are also exempted from payment of Darb toll gate charges throughout the Eid holiday.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi on Sunday announced the news about the parking spaces which will be free during the Eid holiday starting from Tuesday, May 11, until the end of the official holiday (29 Ramadan until 3 Shawwal, 1442 Hijri).
In addition to this, the Mussafah industrial area M18 parking lot will also be free of charge during the eid holiday.
The ITC has urged the public to follow the Mawaqif rules and not to park their vehicles in prohibited areas or block the flow of traffic.
Drivers are required to remember to follow the Mawaqif rules regarding resident parking areas and avoid these spaces from 9pm to 8am to avoid being fined.
The fine for parking in residents-only parking spaces is Dh200 and the car will be towed four hours after the ticket has been issued.
Darb toll gate system
The ITC also announces that the Darb toll gate system will be free of charge during the Eid Al Fitr holiday. Toll gate charges will restart once the official holidays are finished. The charges after the eid-break will apply from 7am to 9am, and from 5pm to 7pm, Saturday to Thursday.
The ITC had changed the toll gate timings during the holy month of Ramadan (from 8am to 10am and from 2pm to 4pm), but the timings will be back to normal after the Eid holiday.
Please note that Darb toll gate system will be free of charge during Eid Al Fitr holiday starting from Tuesday, May 11, 2021 until the end of the offical holiday (Ramdan 29 to Shawwal 3, 1442).
