Covid-19 protocols for Arrivals at Abu Dhabi airport

May 4, 2021: The COVID-19 protocols for arrival passengers at Abu Dhabi airport have been updated. Below are the COVID-19 protocols for arriving travellers.

The guidelines outlined is different for people based on whether you are vaccinated or non-vaccinated.

Abu Dhabi emirate has updated its guidelines for arriving travellers in the emirate, which are applicable from May 3, 2021. The guidelines varies depending on whether the passenger is vaccinated or not.

New guidelines were announced by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee on May 2.

Vaccinated passengers

For the passengers who are fully vaccinated, they would not need to quarantine if they are arriving from the included ‘Green countries’.

Below is the list of green countries for Abu Dhabi travel updated on April 25:

However, the passenger would need to get a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test done on his arrival and then follow on Day 6. 

The protocol for vaccinated passenger applies to all vaccinated UAE citizens and residents 28 days after they have received the second dose of vaccine.

Vaccinated passengers arriving from countries not on the Green list need to quarantine for five days and have a PCR test done on arrival as well as Day 4.

What happens if you are vaccinated and arriving from a country on the ‘Green list’.

Non-vaccinated passengers 

If you are not vaccinated and arriving from a ‘Green’ country, you do not need to quarantine. However, you would need to get a PCR test on arrival, Day 6 and Day 12.

Protocol for non-vaccinated passengers.

If you are arriving from any other country, you would need to quarantine for 10 days if you are not vaccinated. The PCR test need to be taken on arrival and Day 8.

A 10-day quarantine needs to be observed by non-vaccinated passengers arriving from countries not on the ‘Green list’.
