QR Code payment to save fees on Dubai RTA Parking

You can now start saving on parking fees in Dubai for using the new payment method introduced by RTA.

iPhones users in Dubai can now use their phone for payment of public parking spaces instead of SMS parking or machines.

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Dubai has started the 'App Clips' programme to make the parking payment much easier.

People can now scan the QR code shown on RTA parking machines all around Dubai to start their vehicle parking request and complete the payment process.

The useful feature of "App Clips" system is that the person who is using it will be able to save an amount of 30 fils per parking payment which is the extra fee charged for the SMS parking service.

How 'App Clips' works

App Clips is not an application and users are not required to download the app on their iPhones. This is a feature available on RTA Dubai App. A screen will pop up once you scan the QR code, and allows the user to pay the parking fee very smoothly through the Apple Pay.

Users of this program also don't need to download RTA Dubai App to access the feature. It is available in both Arabic and English languages.

"We have affixed QR code stickers to parking machines and signboards in more than 70 per cent of public parking lots in the Emirate of Dubai. The process is gathering pace to cover all parking spaces shortly," the RTA added.
