Abu Dhabi: A project has been announced to control the Covid-19 virus transmission and for the safety of general health care targeting five areas in and around the city of Abu Dhabi.

Police and Medical team in Abu Dhabi getting ready for PCR test campaign

The project aims to run an extensive covid testing campaign in the areas. The Intensive Covid-19 Testing Campaign will cover the followings areas.

  1. Al Dhana which is in suburb of the Abu Dhabi city also known as the Tourist Club Area
  2. Baniyas outside the city
  3. Al Shamkha
  4. Al Shawmek
  5. Al-Zahiya
Abu Dhabi Crisis and Emergency Management Committee asked the general public in this sector and is requested to participate in the PCR test campaign and strictly take all preventive measures. The house-to-house inspection programme includes about 15,000 people per day. Thousands of people are being tested in Abu Dhabi. The police and medical team travel in the areas to diagnose coronavirus infection. The team often works in the night since most of the people are at home during this time and the medical team will come to the doorstep of the house to do the PCR check for every person in the house. 

The team will Register and take swab for PCR test. It takes less than two minutes. The Chief Executive of Tamooh Health Care Services Abdullah Al Rashidi  said that the goal of this campaign is to put as many people as possible to the test. 

The number of cases could be further reduced by imposing restrictions. The authorities are still waiting. 

The New coronavirus cases detected in the UAE on Tuesday is 2022. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 4,87,697. Today, four deaths and 1731 cures were reported. In the last 24 hours, the MOHAP has collected 2,66,023 swabs and tests were carried out. In the last 24 hours, 1,18,805 vaccines were administered. The total number of vaccine recipients reached 91.5  million. The ratio of persons received vaccine is 92.58 doses per 100 people.
