Restaurant and cafe workers are now required to take tests.
Ajman made the announcement that it is now mandatory for workers to take weekly PCR tests. The new rules affect people working in restaurants, cafés and food delivery services.
Ajman’s Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Team have instructed residents to download the contact tracing app ALHOSN. The list of workers also include those in supermarkets, sports halls and salons. Those who have had both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are exempt from the rules.
From March 6, there will be intensified inspections and it is hoped that these will bring down the number of Covid-19 cases. Workers have been reminded to wear masks at all time and maintain social distancing measures.
Ajman have recently announced stricter restrictions. Cafés and restaurants must close at 11pm and all events have been postponed for the first quarter of the year.
The emirate follows Oman and Dubai in ordering early closures and Abu Dhabi in making PCR tests mandatory.
