The visit visa holders who are overstaying in the UAE and need to avail the benefits of the grace period for exemption from fines is required to report 48 hours before their departure if they are departing from Dubai airport, the Federal Authority of Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has said.


The all fines exemption and exemption from other administrative restrictions are applicable for persons whose visas are expired before March 1, 2020. People now in the country with visit and residency visas expired before 1st March 2020 can benefit from the exemptions, if they exit the UAE before December 31.

Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and RAK Airport Departure

Visit visa holders in UAE with their visas expired before March 1, 2020 and travelling out through Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah airports, must reach the airport at least 6 hours before the departure time of their flight to avail the amnesty programme. 

The persons who are  travelling through Dubai and Al Maktoum airports is required to report at the Dubai Civil Aviaion Security Centre 48 hours before their flight's departure time.

Residence visa violators should book the air ticket with the departure date is before December 31 and arrive at the airport with the passport and ticket four hours before the departure time.


The authority also informed that the violators who have dependants under their sponsorship should exit the country along with their dependants. If the sponsor is exiting the country under amnesty programme then he should take his dependants also along with him.
