Khor Fakkan, the land of beautiful beach in Sharjah, which is well known with the mesmerizing rock mountains and enchanting beaches, has now got a new park with an artificial waterfall to the relaxation of visitors to this beautiful place in Sharjah.

The 'Shees Park' span across 11,362 square meter was inaugurated and opened to the public by Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi - the Supreme council member and Ruler of Sharjah . The park has a vast play area, area for barbecue, 32 seats covered by sun shades and a theatre which can accommodate 70 people.

The Sharjah ruler inaugurated the park by planting a fig sapling to reinforce the eco-friendly programme whereby trees would be planted on mountains that lies on the road leading to Khor Fakkan city, and each of the mountain will be called after the trees grown on it.

Sheikh Sultan also paid a visit to the historically important Najd Al Maqsar village where the ancient people and communities lived in Khor Fakkan. The village has 13 centuries-old houses and efforts are on to restore the age-old hamlet. A visit to the village will help one to know more about the traditional lifestyle of ancient Arabian people.
