the DPI test

What are the new regulations?

According to the new regulations, either of the two tests can be done, valid for 48 hours.

Residents and visitors who stay for six consecutive days or more within Abu Dhabi emirate must now take a PCR test on the sixth day of each visit, in order to protect the health and safety of the community.

If you stay for six days at a stretch, or longer, you would need to repeat a PCR test on the sixth day.

Abu Dhabi Media Office clarification

Why does the PCR test need to be repeated on the sixth day?

Statement by Abu Dhabi Media Office.

“Abu Dhabi residents or visitors from outside the Emirate who enter Abu Dhabi and stay for six consecutive days or more are required to do another PCR test on the sixth day, for one time only.

“… regardless of how they will stay in Abu Dhabi,” the statement from the office said.

This is because according to scientific studies, the probability of detecting the virus is high halfway through the incubation period of an infected person, according to the statement.

This measure aims at early detection of cases in their preliminary stages and preventing the spread of infection among members of the community.
