Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police have warned that drivers seen throwing used masks out of their vehicle will get fines of Dh1,000 and six black points on their licence.
The warning was tweeted on Saturday and follows a comparable warning from Ajman Police on June 1 that expressed the equivalent Dh1,000 fine and six black points.
It isn't yet known whether the fine is an acrosss the country rule, so far just police power's from two emirates have declared it publicly.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mubark Al Ghafli, head of the police health and safety committee said that the right method to dispose of a mask was to put it in a plastic pack and afterward put it in a dustbin. “People should also wash their hands after handling used masks," he included.
The face mask is used for the protection of the individual and for others also. The throwing of disposing of used masks incorrectly will lead to spreading of coronavirus if the mask is contaminated.
The people should always follow and do all the preventive measures to control the spread of virus and it is the responsibility and duty of each individual in the country.
