A stay extension (overstay) for visitors to UAE who could not exit the UAE borders due to flight cancellations, border closure and airport closures has come as a 'relief during these tough period'.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship made the announcement on Monday, March 23, that the affected visitors would be able to extend their stay legitimately in the country. The tweet was published on @ICAUAE twitter handle.

Visitors to the Dubai and other emirates were on the fear that they would have to pay overstay fines. People are relieved with this good news from Federal Authority. Public was worried that they would have to pay visa extension fees or overstay fines inorder to exit from the crisis when the COVID-19 is over. Most of the people are not in a position to afford the fees at the moment.
